Whether you're a mother, father, or student who will be driving yourself or others to school, you should know that the beginning of the back-to-school season is always chaotic. Operating a vehicle in the madness of it all can be stressful, so it is imperative to prepare yourself as much as possible for the traffic. From adjusting to a new schedule and withdrawing from our summer routines, car problems should be the least of your concerns. We've made a list of things to pack in your vehicle to (hopefully) make things a little easier throughout the semester:
Jumper Cables - These colorful cables are a necessity for all drivers of every age. Jumper cables will undoubtedly be beneficial if you find yourself with a dead battery at school or any other place away from home.
Emergency Contact Numbers - It is vital to have designated phone numbers such as towing services, auto repair shops, etc., to call in case of an emergency, breakdown, or accident. You can save the numbers on your phone or go traditional with some pen and paper; either way works.
Non-Perishable Food and Water - These are helpful when you are on the road and if you (or your children) get hungry during the school day. It is also excellent to have a quick bite on hand for hungry kids whenever they get picked up!
Weather-Proof Items - The weather can change up suddenly. You should be prepared for any weather conditions when going to or from school. We recommend packing some extra sweaters, jackets, and umbrellas in your car just in case the weather switches on you.
Phone Charger - The last item you will surely need is a phone charger! You never know when your phone may need some extra juice. You'll need it to be functioning in case of emergencies.
We hope that this list of essential back-to-school items to pack in your vehicle will help you be more prepared for the semester. Last but not least, always remember to drive safely and carefully! If you suspect that your car needs maintenance or repairs, feel free to give Honest Wrenches a call or visit!
