Honestly good people. Have good chats, get a convenient ride home and back. Went in for regular maintenance and got fluid testing, and diagnostics on top of the oil change and tire rotation. So they are pretty thorough.

In all of my years of driving I have never been to a garage that has provided me with a more pleasant experience. I had to get some pretty expensive work done on my vehicle and they provided me with a loaner car for about two weeks. These mechanics were patient and understanding with my unique financial situation, as I was unable to afford the service right away. They were genuinely caring and not judgmental or pressuring in any fashion. Some garages may bully a customer in to unnecessary additional services, but not here.This place is called Honest Wrenches for a reason. All of the mechanics did a phenomenal job of explaining the breakdown of the costs as well as reassuring me that I was going to receive a quality service. I could not be more impressed with the kindness, respect, and honesty that I was treated with. This place is local it is efficient it is friendly and again, honest. I would give these guys 1000 stars if I could. If you are in the Des Moines metro area and need a trustworthy mechanic, go here.

After 20 years of using a competitor in West Des Moines I gave Honest Wrenches a chance. 1st couple experiences were good but I was a little disappointed in the most recent experience. I forgot to bring my $10 coupon on a $1000 repair bill and was told if I didn't bring it they would not honor it because "Theywould yell at me if I didn't have the card".. It seems like a pretty poor way to treat your employees if that was true.

This place is the absolute BEST! Always friendly every time we come in. Do a thorough inspection that is super detailed of our vehicles every time we bring them in. Let us know the things that are absolutely necessary and are fairly priced. The customer service is second to none. We get a handwritten thank you card after each time we get serviced. We currently live near ankeny and are planning to move closer to Ames and we will still make the drive to have them service all of our vehicles. Won’t go anywhere else now!!! Thanks for all you guys do. Stellar team and service.
